Angela Kretzer is an artist based in West Virgina who uses alcohol marker to create dynamic figures and bring them to life with symbolic details. Storytelling has been a driving force in her work, even as a child. Inspired by the comic books she grew up with, she is drawn to characters who spend their time overcoming a trauma or pushing themselves to be more than their pain. To her, the stories themselves may be fiction, but their struggles are relatable, and in their pain, she never has felt more heard. Her goal through her artwork is to take the uncertainty, the pain, and the trauma, and place it in the hands of others to be heard, to experience, and feel important.
